They’re everywhere. I’m even guilty of being one. That doesn’t make it any less annoying though. So what things annoy you about other drivers on the road?
The biggest thing that annoys me is cell phone use while driving, it distracts people from what they should be doing..driving!
Also, people who don’t use their directionals irritate me.
Other than that, people tend to avoid my truck on the road, no one has ever dared to tailgate or cut off a 1970s monster of a pickup truck.
There are people who purposely get close to me just to gawk at it or give me a thumbs up/wave but that’s it. I guess big old truck=intimidating to most people.
well its that all American steel box they know will trash there car if they tried something stupid like that, I drive a Ford F150 that sitts up high (factory stock suspension) and the bumper which is steel sits up to where the hood/bonnet of most cars would wind up under it most times…
as for the irritating drivers I try not to let them irritate me but if they are dumb enough to do something well…..dumb I let them know by use of the horn…oh and for cellphone users if there window is down I make sure to be rude by hitting the horn, and if they fuss at me for that I make sure to politely remind them of our states cell phone ban,,,

Bumpers used to be bumpers and steel used to be steel.
Sometimes I wish cellphones were never invented.June 5, 2015 at 6:06 pm #665834
I only read a few pages of the truck forum but funny stuff. Giant stack out through the hood – how do you open it? I suppose that explains what is going on. Anyway, not annoying, just dangerous.
A guy hit me last night while I was sitting at a red light – a tiny bit of paint damage. He said, “Did I wake you up?” People?????
Did you beat his ass?
June 5, 2015 at 6:16 pm #665836I have to read this thread but let me chime in before I start my day and get ready, Driving is undisputably at an all-time low of enforcement, and an all-time high of lawlessness. People pass on double-yellow lines in Newark (three of them.. and that was with my off-duty Police friend in the passenger seat.) Big huge 53′ tractor-trailer did not want to yield to a Port Authority police SUV with its emergency lights on on a 2-lane road. People cut each other off with reckless abandon. And, yes.. CELL PHONE USE. I had to DRIVE AROUND someone that had her car stopped in front of me.. and what I mean by that is: The white SUV with a lady, calmly smoking a cigarette out the window.. was in front of me when the light turned green.. about 5 carlengths from the light. Every other car went.. I saw brake lights and saw the driver. Cigarette out the window.. on the phone, looked like texting. I evaluated the situation, went around, as it was evident she would rather sit there.. Tapped the horn as I passed to indicate that this was not safe behavior (tried to leave the whole “attitude” of someone that would do that out of it,) and .. she honked at ME! .. Well, I had to honk in response, but of course I kept on going. Just kinda stunned at how that all went down. Lady Gaga wanna-be person… smh…
I have also realized that “Every state has their own version of ‘We can’t drive.” Every single one. Again.. In NJ, We have people that will do 50MPH in a road that does about 70MPH int he right lane because they are TALKING ON THEIR PHONE. No police in sight. And I have noticed an ABSOLUTE LACK OF POLICE ON THE VAST MAJORITY OF ROADS. NONE. I saw some yesterday, but.. It’s the beginning of the month, and it’s Bayonne NJ. So, yeah, they are on the roads, lighting up some motorists.
But one thing I never do is ACCELERATE TO A RED LIGHT. That does not make sense. Sometimes, drivers act upset if I even coast. TO A RED LIGHT. Point of the fact: Drivers are absolute idiot morons that should not be behind the wheel. Pay them no mind.. And no, they won’t follow up on a road rage, as we need to understand the psychology of what driving a car does to a confrontation.
June 5, 2015 at 6:19 pm #665837
I was riding in a car with my uncle and some guy speeding behind us riding our back acting like he owned the road or something so we pulled over and he got angry was yelling no fights or nothing but the guy wanted to say we were driving slow we were going 40 which is the speed limit on that road.people these days…Anyone up to go build a new town in the middle of a forest with me ?
I’d have just driven around you. brother (assuming there was no oncoming traffic or law enforcement around.) No point in getting mad or saying anything. Or honking. It kills me when people honk. I used to work in Fast Food, and.. When I tell you that there is something deeply wrong with people, it is born out by experience. lol
EDIT: Here in NJ, the person going “too slow” in front of me.. Would have then sped up and started a race at the exact moment I went to pass you… thus making me have to then complete that action with an equal and opposite reaction of completing the race, and probably cutting off the person to get in front when they felt the need to try to assert dominance by being a ****.
And the cops only come out a couple of days a month, also maybe on some nicer days when everyone is out, and so are they.. Otherwise, if you know where they usually are, you can either avoid those areas, or simply not speed in front of them.
June 5, 2015 at 6:26 pm #665838
This is why I am proud to be from a very small town, on my way into work I may see 2 or 3 cars. But i feel like a fish out of water when I take a road trip to a more populated area (waving the black flag) some people are so inconsiderate its infuriating.
Glad I am not the only one that feels this way.
I have called the police on some drivers.. Usually the ones that issue verbal or gestural torts at me, and usually then after they did something unsafe.. towards me, and everyone else. (Zooming on my left at almost double speed limit and cutting me off, usually accompanied by a hard brake tap for a split second, horn honk and yelled out the window.. and no, not “kids.” This situation: IF no verbal taunt was made, I’d have let it go. But sometimes, the blood boils so much..)
^^ This always fails because I need to Google police phone numbers (I don’t use Police) .. and when I call it in.. I get a “yeah, yeah, we’ll send somebody out.” Which right then, I know.. They are long gone, and they will not be stopped. It’s like that with State Police, too.. They aren’t going ot magically post a trooper to overtake/intercept someone who is literally 30 miles away by the time they get to where I phoned it in. Sheesh…
June 5, 2015 at 6:28 pm #665839
I recently got a Subaru just like the one ETCG had except it’s a manual. I got it to learn how to drive a 5-speed car. However, people here don’t care whether you’re doing the speed limit or not they’re going to ride your butt! So I’m trying to learn to drive a stick with some jerk on my bumper and a loose clutch! Yeehaw. Self centered road hogs are the worst.
Great car to learn stick on. When you learn how to bring the RPMs up just enough so it doesnt stall from a stop in 1st gear.. Then you got it. 🙂
June 15, 2015 at 5:12 am #666462Two things that bother me:
The road that I live on T’s into a busy road. The main road is 2 lane and the speed limit is 45mph.When I am leaving home to go do something in town and pull out on to the busy road I seem to get some idiot that thinks I should be doing the speed limit or faster as soon as I make my turn. I always pull out onto the main road with plenty of room to spare with traffic. Evidently they feel I should be turning at lightning speed. They get right on my bumper and start flashing their lights at me. It does not occur to them to slow down a bit or give me time to get up to speed. Like its some big injustice that they would have to take their foot off the gas.
I get this behaviour when I am just trying to get home: I signal way in advance and start slowing down to turn right onto my road. I prefer to slow down and then turn rather than pull off to the shoulder and then turn. They run right up on me and either honk at me or rev their engine as they are barely passing me. One driver actually flipped me off just because I was turning right. Mind you, This is a 2 lane road with a speed limit of 45mph.
I really do not understand people. I wish I could just chalk it up to ‘teen drivers’ but a lot of them seem to be older. Also, To the others that have posted here – Your right – Police really are never there when you need them. They do not seem to care either with these crazy drivers. Its like the police should not be bothered enforcing such things.
Thanks for letting me rant.
