My 2005 Hyundai Elantra 2.0l gasoline motor. holds 4 quarts of oil. I change with synthetic at 7500 miles. I find that I use 1 almost a quart in between changes. Is this normal, bad, evil?

Normal. 1qt isnt much to loose between 7500 miles. Also most older cars tend to have minor oil leaks, and synthetic oil can make it worse.

Those years and older Hyundai/Kia engines would last a long time but they would consume oil a lot. I bought a used 2005 Kia Sorento in a rare spec with 2.4ltr engine. That engine used to consume 1 ltr every 1000KMs then I switched the oil to Valvoline Maxlife 10W-40 and that reduced the level of oil consumption to 1 ltr every 3000KMs.
Down the line I had to do an engine rebuild due to local MOT test failure from excessive oil smoke. Even after it runs without consuming oil with conventional oil only. With synthetic oil it still consumes.

That is actually pretty low. Many 12 year old cars burn five times that much.

Your oil consumption for the year is actually pretty good for the size of the engine could be worse you can always try a little bit thicker oil for your car synthetic has properties in it that help it shrink gaskets and seals which can cause oil leaks

No oil leaks, just burning that 1 quart I guess.

I used 10w30, on my last oil change. I’m in Hawaii, so although the oil cap says 5W30 the manual states that if you are in a warm climate 10W30 is ok. However, on my next oil change which is soon I have already bought 5W30

10w 30 and 10w 40 are both okay for a vehicle that requests 5w 30 using the thicker oil can slow down the oil usage the engine is consuming

It’s okay to use thicker oil in hotter climates it also helps in cold climates also if you want to keep using 10w 30 or even 10w 40 it’s quit okay to do so
