If the alternator itself is making a noise, the bearing may just be bad. You could try loosening the belt to see if the noise changes or goes away. But if it’s a new ‘rebuilt’ alternator and is making noise right out of the gate, I would return it.

i’ll try to loosen it saturday while i’m doing the front brakes. alternator is for my dad’s sentra

Yea you do not want to over tighten the belt on an alternator.
