Aircon system takes a long time to kick in

just curious on what could cause an aironditioning system to take it’s time to start noticeably cooling. it was repaired and regassed last year after a leak but has always been this way. where i live is typically high humidity but my previous car didn’t seem to suffer this issue, it requires a good 5-10 minutes of driving before i feel it running as well as it should usually on the warmer days, then i could leave the car for a while and come back and not have to wait for it to get to a cool temp as i did earlier. not sure what other info may be required but the compressor definitely engages when i get it running, just curious whether some aircon systems are inferior to others or anything like that maybe?

If its taking time to come on or is on and not cooling
I would suspect the charge being low. Are the cooling fans
running? Also if its hot in the car it will take some time
to get the cars load under control.Put a pocket thermometer
in the center dash vent to see what temp you have.

I would have thought the refrigerant is low too but from memory it behaved the same way after it had been degassed, I will check the fans when I head out tomorrow, when I looked the issue up some others seemed to say a faulty pressure valve is related to the issue, might end up taking it to get checked if the heat here really starts getting to me and check whether it was topped up enough in the past
