You will need a scan tool to pull the trouble code for the air bag system and go from there._x000D_

Yes the codes will be stored even if the light is not on so long as you do not disconnect the battery before you have the codes read.

Thanks Eric. Unfortunately I had to disconnect the battery to change the 4×4 Actuator so I will have to wait and see if the Airbag light comes back on before I take it into the dealership.

+1 airbag systems are designed to work without the battery for a short time after it’s disconnected. That said I have yet to see one go off during service. That’s not to say you shouldn’t be cautious because they have the same force as a shot gun blast when they go off.
