I suspect air door problem on 2008 Honda Accord. The A/C will not cool the car. I fidget with the “air direction” levers and temperature set point to no avail. Then, 15-20 “sweaty” minutes later the air comes on…. very very cold. There is no cycling of compressor as with low coolant. The a/c stays strong the remainder of my 60 minute commute. A few weeks ago I changed the cabin air filter. Could I have blocked an air door with that? How do I check and repair the air doors. This has occurred 3x. What else would cause this intermittent function? Do you have a related video? Your videos are GREAT!! 😆

Hondas have problems with the multiplex switch unit. By the air door, I assume you mean the blend door, that switches heat and cold air flow? Maybe the servo or actuator has an intermittent problem, or the switch itself. Usually in diagnosing this, you need to pull the whole AC /heat controls and start there. Check the vacuum or electrical diagram and manually actuating the blend door to discover your problem
Lets back up. if you adjust the selector position switch
will the air blow out different vents?(floor,middle,defrost)
temp control set to cold and ac switch on and in recirc mode then
no cold air. I thought honda used evaporator air temp sensor. This sensor

My Commute is from Hackensack: Exit 16(or 18) to 9, New Brunswick.
I fired up the Honda…. all venting(including recirc) was functioning. The a/c worked also.
Typically, difficult to troubleshoot an intermittent problem. I almost wished it was broken when I checked it! On your advice I looked into the AIR CONDITIONER (A/C) SENSOR p/n: 80530-TA0-A01 ; Now, I need to find a service manual related to it. I really believe it’s a sensor or switch or wire connection. But, cars have proved me a cheap dope before.My a/c problem was resolved!! Faulty compressor relay. It was failing intermittently, so it fooled me for a while. An $8 part. I love it when a/c problems are fixed for $8. I appreciate all the suggestions… that got me started.
