A cold air intake does not really improve power to much on small engines (especially 8 valves). However it’s a good 1st step for other mods and the mods will greatly benefit for an engine that can breathe better…

I do however, love the bellow of my spectra cone filter on my foci banana:

I do NOT recommended on settling with cheap K&N knockoffs, spectra (like mine) is acceptable, but no name chinese knock off garbage is well, garbage…

“cold air” or not you will see slightly better low end torque…

if at all possible i will keep the lower half of the stock airbox in the car this will help direct fresh air into the filter with little hot air going in

That’s the best cheap way, I to left my snorkel intact then made a wall out of a pizza box rapped in foil to keep engine heat off of the general location… It would be harder in yours as you’d have to stretch it from the firewall to headlight… Also I feel I should add the spectra is universal, it comes with the required shims connect right onto your stock air line…

I can get a cone filter (several brands) that will connect to the factory snorkel hose w/e you wanna call it. However i chose this particular one because i like how it looks. I might not use the red hose they provide it all depends if i can even get the shop replaced PCV hose off the snorkel

Depends on the car, on a focus the car would run fine, but the moment you stepped on the throttle it would act like it didn’t have any power. Some old chevy’s will run just as good without them, and other will cough jitter shake… and all of them throw a CEL (Check Engine Light).

And no not the same 😛

No need to extinguish it it’ll burn out the bulb eventually then you can put in an LED bulb to replace it.

I plan on putting LEDs in the dash anyway and when i do ill just take out the Air Bag and CEL bulbs and wont replace them 😀
