Really not my week so far.

Had the valve cover off to replace the gasket. Decided to clean it up. I pointed a can of carb cleaner toward the opening for the other PCV hose (the one opposite the PCV valve). The red straw immediately blew off the aerosol can and down inside the cover. The backing plate to the valve cover cannot be removed and I can’t hear the straw moving around in there.

      What do I do now?

Yeah thats not cool, shit happens hey, if i’m understanding this right you have a peice of straw floating around your rocker cover? My best suggestion would be tip, wiggle, shake, with a little compressed air should blow it out somewhere

Yes, it’s in there somewhere but not moving around. Probably stuck to some residual oil at the moment.

I had a similar issue once. It was frustrating. I finally went to Harbor Freight with a 20% coupon and bought a digital inspection camera. I think it cost about $65. It took a few minutes to get used to but the camera has a light and it was small enough for me to get in and find the loose piece of plastic that I needed to get out. Here’s a link………. good luck http://www.harborfreight.com/digital-inspection-camera-61839.html

I wouldn’t worry about it. I’ve seen worse things inside of engines and they ran just fine. Think of it like this, in a fight between metal and plastic, who do you think is gonna win. If it does make it into the oil pan it won’t get drawn up into the system because of the screen on the oil pick up. I think you’ll be fine forgetting about it.
