Do your research! In this business, you’re dealing with a lot of government agencies (OSHA, EPA, NHTSA, IRS, state, county, and city among others. Also working out of a home garage, there are zoning issues or your homeowner’s insurance that may not allow that. You will also have to carry a lot of liability insurance.

Don’t let all of this discourage you. Just find out what the ‘gotchas’ may be and find a way to work with or around them.

If there is a way to take a couple of small business planning courses, take them. Also the Small Business Administration (SBA) can help.

ive been a mobile mechanic for 4 years now and now im going back to the garage ive got 17 years experience and all i will say is that i found out that people who use mobile mechanics are mainly people who are hard up and cant really afford to have the bigger jobs done but i live in england a bit different to where you are but hey best of luck to you its good to work for your self 🙂 and one last thing make 100 percent sure you have all the right tools for the job and you will probably find yourself chasing parts all the time bare all that in mind and you should be fine good luck

My advice is give cheap but fair prices, also there isn’t better advertisement then word of mouth. So just make sure you take your time and do it right.

I run my shop by a simple philosophy I rather have a small stream of water coming in (money) then one BIG chunk of water and then nothing after that.
            I hope it makes sense.
