if the heater doesn’t work the antifreeze isn’t circulating. i would check to see if the thermostat is bad

A test would be to just take the thermostat out and run it for awhile right?

you could take the thermostat out and put it in some boiling water to see if it opens, just a thought

Yes you can test the thermostat in boiling water but, they are so cheap just put a new one in as maintenance
even if the old one opens in boiling water.

Start with the basics. Here’s some good vids.

Awesome vid on diagnosing an overheat:

a few years back i couldnt figure out why my car was over heating, the fan was working it wasnt leaking the thermostat was fine the fuses and relays apeared to be fine. so i rewired the fan to the acc mode on the igniton and whenever the car was in the on position the fan kept the radiator cool. not saying this is a good idea but it worked as a temporary fix.

I would avoid a temporary fix and start with the videos I posted to find a permanent solution to your problem. I personally would rather find the cause of the fans not working rather than wiring the circuit to my ignition switch. I agree it’s a crafty temporary fix, but I would rather just fix the issue.

check the coolant level. it needs to be full and free of air. make sure fans are operating.C8-)

Yep I did make videos on this subject that cover a lot of possible causes, I recommend following the steps in the videos to see if you can find the cause. BTW don’t say thermostat right off the bat, it’s actually about #3 or #4 on the list of causes in my opinion.
