Acura TL Rear Brake Pad Shims

A friend’s 2006 Acura TL had a brake pad wear indicator squealing from the rear right. He has ordered new pads for both rears.

But we found something odd when we did our pad inspections. Both rears (left and right) were the same with the inboard pads having two vibration shims installed. And both outboard pads only had one shim. So six shims in total for the four pads.

Is this the factory norm? I want to know the correct approach when we put the new pads in.

It looks right on with two inboard and one outboard for the shim count.
