I have a 1999 acura rL with 210,000. It started idling too low & occasionally stalls at idle. Once you touch the gas ever so slightly it recovers & is completely fine. New iridium plugs, new o2 sensors, new fuel filter, coolant is OK, I use 93 octane & then fuel injector cleaner about once a month. Idle air control was checked & is OK. No CEL. It almost seems as if the engine isn’t getting the gas is needs at idle. It sounds empty & tinny at idle, but again, sounds perfect when the gas pedal is pressed. NO other symptoms except very rarely there is slight hesitation between when you press the gas & when it finally responds. Sometimes it takes a second or 2, then the car takes off like a surge of gas entered the engine. Could this be something easy like the fuel pressure regulator valve, or a bad injector, or more likely a bad coil or valve problem? There IS minor fluttering in the engine in the winter when the engine in cold, like a playing card in bicycle spokes as a kid. Once the engine has run 15-20 min it goes away. But doesn’t happen in warm weather at all. Any ideas?
