Hello, I have a acura integra 94 LS all stock. The problem I’m having is after i replaced my thermostat, the car is having problems starting up bu once its on it runs smooth. And also, after the T-stat replacement, the car now has a check engine light. I checked the thermostat housing’s ground and it was fine. All i did was replaceme a T-stat and now its hard to start. Please help, i even check the fuses under the hood, all good. Could it be a main relay?

see if this helps. The ect has alot to do with how the engine
runs at start up. Kinda acts like a choke.

Fixed the problem.. your all going to think “what a noob”. the problem was underneath the dizzy, a ECT sensor (at least that’s what i think it was) was disconnected most likely knocked off when i took the lower rad hose off the thermostat housing and didn’t see hanging since its so out of sight. but once i attached that little pest, bingo!!!! car starts without a problem and took it for a test drive while pushing the car hard as i can and wa la new thermostat works perfect.no problems..

Thank you all who posted and helped out. really appreciated your help.

Glad you got it. reset the computer to clear the code and
enjoy the ride. 🙂 Thanks for the update and the fix.

Funny, I was going to ask about that very thing. You kinda need to disconnect that sensor in order to get to stuff back there. That said, I recommend OE thermostats for Honda’s only. They just work better. Also, it’s very important that you purge the air from the system when you open the cooling system. If not, you can see all kinds of issues as a result.

Thanks for the updates and for using the ETCG forum.
