      Eric,

I’ve seen your video about repairing a Honda main relay. In your video about an Acura overheating and you diagnosing the problem as the cooling fan timer you say that not much can be done with one. Why is that? I have a 1990 Honda Accord with a fan timer problem. A new part is not available. There are a number of places online that reman, rebuild/repair automotive ECM’s, modules, instrument clusters etc. Most don’t even respond about my module and the few that did don’t do fan modules. I could buy a used one but given the age I don’t think that is a safe bet. Any suggestions? Thanks !!

New ones are available, but they’re kind of pricey. I just searched one right now. You know for sure it’s your timer?

I googled the heck out of this one. I did find a place on Amazon that said they had 2, about $165 for one. 9 days after ordering they cancelled saying not available. When I googled again the same seller came up but this time it said only one available and the price went up about $40. Please send me the link.

With the car off the cooling fan comes on and off, sometimes for a few seconds, sometimes longer, sometimes not at all. I heard it in the garage doing this after waking up one morning. The battery was not dead. I had already replaced the A and B sensors/switches and the relay (Honda parts) only because parts are getting scarce for this vehicle and I wanted to get them before they were discontinued.

Can you send the whole link. The short one did not work.

There are many dealers that sell online. Most sites state that the part is discontinued, some don’t. I have tried to order from a few that showed it being available. They cancel the order saying that the part has been discontinued. I did find a new one for a 1994 but it changed that year, same for 1990-93. Probably try a used one. Also will get the schematic of a ’94 to see what the diff is and if I can adapt for the ’90. Or try to bypass the timer.

Finally found a new part. In Japan. For those of you with older Honda’s or imports jp-carparts.com may be able to get what you need.

The link below is for Honda’s online repair information, same thing available to the dealers and independent shops. $10 for one day access.
