You may not be able to. If it’s what I’m thinking of it’s pretty difficult to get those off and they were designed to be ‘sealed’ to prevent contaminants from getting in there. If you destroy the shield I wouldn’t worry too much as it may very well be another 10 years before you have to worry about it again.
