      1998 buick century

So i got into an accident and i broke my tie rod and the passenger side (inner) and bent my control arm as well as my sway bar. Half way through replacing the rack (was going to do that before the accident anyway). Do i NEED to replace the sway bar. Only part of it where it comnects to the stabilizer link is crack its still in tact though.

I would, considering you say it is already cracked.

Not fun turning corners without one, the car will lean over significantly without a sway bar to hold it more level.

Not trying to be a wise a$$.
But what will it cost if you lose control of the vehicle and end up in a ditch, curb or worse a person?

My first car didn’t have a sway bar in the back and it would sway back and forth like a fish while going in a straight line.

I don’t want to imagine what it would be like if the front one broke while driving.

I recently did a water pump on Mercedes 300 the 1988, while under it to open the radiator petcock, I noticed it had no sway bar at all. Brackets were there, but the bar was gone. I told the owner, he found one from a salvage yard and I installed it. He said he thought it was meant to handle poorly because it’s an older red car, but now he said it handles like a dream. Get the sway bar fixed. You will like the results.

What a crock. Everybody knows red cars handle better.
