ac line insulation

Hello

When I tried to install insulation foam around the low pressure line of my mitsu pajero (montero in the US)،I found something strange
The low pressure line is connected directly to the high pressure line !
I wanted to insulate the low pressure line only to help cooling

They might be dumping into the low side to keep the compressor false loaded
if the metering device shuts down or closes from low load.
