      Hi all,

Its summer time again and there is no way im letting the girlfriend drive her car without AC. Shes too broke to replace it right now….

I got spectra from Amazon , never done this before…

Going to use Dye before doing anything just to verify its only the condenser. ( car had front impact and near zero pressure in the system )

So the processes is remove fan, disconnect hoes, dismount, mount new one, connect lines , put fan on.
then, vaccume the system and use AC tool to put in the correct amount of freon ( 2.5 lb I believe).

Is there anything special I need to take in account?
I was over Hyundai forums and someone said something about special way the connectors fit on an Accent. No info on Elantra.

I am hoping for some insight about this.

      Thanks

[li]A flare wrench is indispensable to do the job.
        2. The fitting must have a Teflon tape on the thread to avoid any gas escape.
        3. Use die to check any other leaks with compress air if you want.
        4. In case buy Hundai fitting

2.5 lbs means you need a scale
If you find no pressure in the system you need a new drier
If you open the system you need a vacuum pump

So, I’d suggest you do the install and then take it somewhere to have it filled.

I’ve written extensively about AC issues and how to service the systems in this article. I’m sure the information you’re looking for is in here.
