If the 2 problems are related I’d take a look at the wiring diagram and see what they share – maybe common power or ground? That’s where I’d start.

Next time the ABS light is on, i would have the codes pulled. That may give you a starting point and +1 with the above post._x000D_

Does your vehicle have a maintenance light reset procedure after oil changes?

I would try pulling the sensors, cleaning them up and the mounting area. Re-install and see what happens. Any ferrous debris can interfere with the magnetic field patterns around the hall sensor.

I know some AZ’s in my area pull ABS codes on domestic vehicles.

You need a scan tool capable of pulling ABS codes. Several modules can give codes, but most other than the pcm require a high-level scan tool to read. I think Sears carries a fairly low price tool that will read ABS codes.

I agree, pull the code. Its probably a funky wheel speed sensor as GM is famous for those. If you can isolate it to a wheel, check that the wiring is in good shape and that the wheel hub mounting bolts are tight and the wheel hub is still good.

Agreed, with all of the above posts. The oil change light is likely just a reminder to change oil, which needs to be reset — your owner’s manual will have the details showing how to do that.

You don’t need to wait for the light to be on to pull the ABS code, it’s stored in the ABS computer and you can pull it up anytime just don’t disconnect the battery or it will clear it’s memory.

It’s not. The computers are designed to hold the code for at least 50 key cycles (50 starts) or you clear them or you disconnect the battery._x000D_
