ABS Light

Good Afternoon all. I have my ABS light on in the dash again. I have replaced both wheel bearing in the front. Replace the wire on the passenger side. (Spliced a new on in) ABS light went out for like 3 months and now back on. On my code reader does not come up with an error (code). So today I checked the splice that I previously did thinking maybe sometheing with that. Respliced it today and still has the ABS light on. Disconected the battery to reset the cars computer. At this time the battery is still disconnected as I will connect next time I leave.

Off the top of my head i would say the original splice went bad somehow and threw the light. I would think it would go off after being reset by the battery being unhooked. If the light is still on after being reset then i would drop test the sensor and see if its got good juice. Again just a quick guess of the top of my head.

So the ABS light is still on. Had the battery unhooked for about 2 hrs or so. Not sure what you are saying about drop test the sensor. Need to explain a bit more.

A drop test is basically going to tell you if you’re losing juice at the splice. First back probe the sensor the splice goes to and note the voltage there. Then check the voltage at the battery side of the splice. If they’re the same you know you need to either start searching elsewhere or replace the sensor depending on the code being thrown. If they’re different then your splice is bad.
