Hey , when my car goes through its start up system check , the ABS fault warning appears , this soon goes out , as does the amber coloured light , that reading my owners manual should stay on if there is a fault until the problem is repaired , the car in question is one many of you will possibly be unfamiliar with , an 2005 Holden Commodore SV6 , built by GM Australia , any help would be appreciated . :cheer:

Sounds normal. If the light goes out after start up this is
normal. If a fault was present the light would illuminate and
        stay on. 🙂

Yeah kind of what I thought too , but I was speaking to the local GM service manager this morning and he says it will have logged a fault regardless , so its going in on Monday and they’ll plug it into the scan tool , I’m hopping its not to serious ,
cheers for the reply , mia amato arigato :cheer:

quick update , some guys on a Commodore forum , who have had similar problems with their own Z series Commodores , think it may be linked to the battery , I’ll see what happens when the car gets scanned next week

If they are only coming on right after startup and then going right out, College is dead on, it’s a bulb check. The control modules all send a signal to the dash module at power up telling it to turn the light on and off to let the driver know the bulbs are good. If you had a soft fault the light would have came on during driving than go out if the problem seemed to resolve itself, if you had a hard fault the light would never goes out after the bulb check.
