94 accord EX sedan 200000+ miles. lost abs completely. it only does it in the cold. i watched it do its thing, the compressor comes on, i see fluid moving in the ABS resivour but it makes a funky noise while the compressors working. so naturally i suspect the compressor, however i dont think anything on the ABS is “DIY” serviceable. advice? past experience?

The ABS sensors at the wheels are replaceable.
Or yo cold just pull the ABS fuse. In real life, ABS is much worse than useless.

I’m confused, this report has NHTSA mostly praising ABS. What I found interesting was that the investigators speculated that the shaking pedal or ABS noise could cause inexperienced drivers to release brake pressure.
well, calling me inexperienced is a slap in the face. i DO know what an ABS compressor sounds like. I DO know that my ABS is non operational, and i DO know that my wheel sensors are fine. so instead of the condescending criticism i basically just want to know one thing. IS IT SERVICEABLE? parts? replace the whole unit? ????
The ABS modulator is not serviceable. The entire unit
would need replacement. Is the ABS light on? If so pull

The one you read was the followup which tried to figure out why ABS performs so well in the lab and so dismally in the real world.
Everyone has the best of intentions,but we’ve flushed like 40 billion dollars and just made things worse.
