G’day in relation to ABS, I was wondering if there was anything different, or be aware of when doing a brake pad, rotor ect. I have had some guys say that it is a whole different operation to a normal set up.

Just wondering if this is true?

      Thanks mate Johnno

        Okay

When I am doing brake pad replacement on a ABS vehicle, the difference is (like Eric showed in the video)I open the bleeder prior to retracting the pistons. This is more to reduce introducing contaminates trapped in the caliper body into the small sensitive orifices of the ABS solenoids.

For the most part you don’t need to worry about ABS. However on some vehicles you need to bleed the system differently. Be sure to consult with the service manual for the procedure on the vehicle you’re working on.
