hey guys, as a new member, I would like to say this is a AWSOME place!!
here is a question if anyone can give me some advice:
I am looking for factory service manual for my car(2008 Honda civic EX-L coupe, AT). found a bunch on E-bay, just wondering:
      1. how many books are included for a complete set?
      2. what to look for in order to get the right one for me? (confused because some are from 2006-2009, some are separated by engine type.)
it will be the best if you can point me the right one~ 😆
Thank you guys for the input, and as always, stay dirty~~

The factory service manual is available from Helms. I only have service manual. It is the size of a phone book and has all the information I ever needed and more, like the torque spec for every bolt on the car.

This might help. BTW Honda often has 2 separate manuals. One for the service manual and one for the electrical system.

Thanks, I didn’t expect you’d show up on my first topic~~I got the electrical wiring book for $30, the service manual is $150(big a** book~).I wish somebody make them into a CD like you showed in video on your odyssey 😛

Arrg, I think it’s too late for this thread.

I get the electronic versions on CD/DVD.

They’re great because they’re cheaper ($30 for my wife’s Honda and that included the electrical manual and supplemental manual) and when I do work, I just print off the sections needed for the job (with my notes) so that I don’t have to flip through these huge tomes.

I got the paper version(both book) for $40. but I still want to have the CD one, like you said, it’s much easier just to print off the ones you need for the job, and it’s easier for searching(I think Eric mentioned it in the video)
I am willing to buy from you if you have one available :silly:
just to make sure it match the spec, here is my Honda civic:
                  2008 Honda Civic, trim: EX-L, coupe, auto-transmission.
give me a shout if you are interested~thanks~ 🙂

I like the CD version for exactly what you say – you can print off the pages you need. Sometimes, when doing a big project you need pages from several or many sections. However, I never encountered a CD version that was easier to search than a book.

Another thing I like to do with a service manual on CD is stuff it in the CD player of my car when making a road trip. That way if I suffer a breakdown I have this information with me.
