Hello!
I had a CRV 2010 LX brand new when I bought it. Do I really need to upgrade to premium gas since its already 7 years old?
When I fill premium gas my MPG is going up like from 23mpg goes to 26 or 27mpg. But with regular gas it goes back to 23mpg.
I want my engine to last longer, does it mean I need to stay with premium? Right now I only put midgrade Shell but still it goes back
to 23mpg and it consumes slower than premium. But for premium gas performance it’s awesome especially with new engine oil.
I know I am saving money for regular and midgrade does it extend the life of my engine with premium gas?

In accordance with your owners manual ( see below )
You can use 87 octane and above.So my thought is, according to Honda, use what best serves you.
