Hello,
I am the owner of a 1999 GMC Yukon. It has 98K miles. I bought it about a month ago, and just started to hear this noise recently.
Situation:
– Make a left or right turn from a stop
– Once you are straightened out, and at about 15MPH you will hear a “grind” it kind of sounds like a train on a railroad track. It is not very loud.
– It sounds like its in the front end.I originally thought it was the brakes. A real simple fix. I took it to a shop to have the brakes done. Shop did rotors plus pads. And took care of the drum brakes in the back. No change in the sound.
I then took it to a shop and the owner came along for a ride. As soon as he heard it, he said it was my muffler and to take it to a muffler shop. I did. I took it to a muffler shop, and they said it sounds like the brakes.
A bit confused on what to do now. Does this sound like an exhaust issue?
A youtube video can be seen here:
It happens exactly at the five second mark.
