      I own an old car (Alfa Romeo 1997 2.0L) that’s been sitting for along time now since I’ve temporarily resided in the US. When I’m back it will be ~10months since it was last started.
      What preliminary steps should I do (if at all) before trying to start it for the first time?
      Replace oil/run oil flush/cooling system flush/etc.

      Suggestions?

        It would be wise to change the oil and filter. Sitting that long, your car might very well need a new battery as well.
