Great job Eric. Hopefully you can get one of those fancy A/C stations someday, but I imagine you don’t do a whole lot of A/C work so it’s not worth it. Your video was a great overview for people (like me) that want do A/C work themselves since most shops charge so much. Plus a lot of people act like it’s a magic vodoo that mere mortal men cannot touch. The only thing people can’t get affordably is a recovery station.
In your next video I hope you touch a little bit about refrigerant and oil. Although some of the cans out there have both, so that’s really convenient.
Have you ever used a solvent to flush a system? There is a car I’m about to do that had a compressor failure (catastrophic) and I was told I needed to flush the system and do a new expansion valve. Which makes sense since there is a good chance it puked stuff into the system.I’m not looking forward to pulling out the evaporator, but I can do it. Actually an A/C shop said I needed over $600 because they said the condenser and evaporator are junk, but I don’t believe that.
Also, on your Harbor Freight manifold gauge set, keep an eye on the high side. I was doing a test on one of my cars a few months ago and the high side starting leaking pretty bad where you connect the high side hose.
