A/C on 2002 GMC Sierra

      The air conditioner is not working and the compressor is cycling on and off every 2-3 seconds when it’s running. What could the problem be? Thanks for any help you can give me.

        Maybe no gas ? Pretty vauge question, might need more info like if the air is coming out of the vents and if so hot or cold ?

          compressor was not working started putting Freon in compressor started to kick on about 2-3 seconds hot air coming still coming out of vents used manifold gauges couldn’t put any more Freon in low side was at max numbers on gauge high side was low.

            The compressor must stay engaged to make cold air.
            still sounds short or over. what readings did you get?

              60 on low side 70 high side I started putting Freon in till compressor started to kick on then stopped putting Freon in watching gauges low side was getting higher compressor was still on and off 2-3 seconds.

                Did you turn the refrigerant can upside-down while charging or leave it right-side up? If your old gas leaked out there could be air in the system also. At this point, without knowing how much charge is in the system, and if there is air or not, the best way to proceed would be to have it evacuated and recharged with the correct amount of refrigerant.
