OK. I know it is winter here now, but I would like to have the car A/C fixed in early Spring and I only receive mixed evaluations from different A/C shops that force me to learn about car A/C functionality. It is the OEM A/C 2006 Chrysler 300 Touring
Well, after discarded any issue with refrigerant (it is OK) but compressor was not working when weather saloon button is pressed, not engaging and no light
Working with the relays and fuses, it is possible to bypass them and the compressor works for few minutes, getting colder almost immediately
And then stops again and a motor turn off reset the issue and can be tried again
One A/C told me, after doing the relay checking and by-passing that it is the computer. What computer, he didn’t know also. Only dealers can deal with that
Other one mentioned that probably could be a sensor
I took to the car electrician and he verified the sensors… everything OK but it could be computer, he didn’t know more and it should go the dealer
What happened before with another car in problems with A/C, I took to the dealer. They changed everything in A/C system and I finished paying almost $1750 after they charged the extended warranty… And believe me, they messed the heater when fixing the A/C
Making the long story short, is there a procedure to be sure it is the computer? What computer is they referred? Can I avoid the dealer? Thank you in advance

If its anything like my 1997 Neon (of which i actually installed AC on a non-AC car), which knowing Chrysler it probably is, the ECM controls when the compressor kicks on or off, through the compressor clutch relay. Various sensors send inputs to the ECM, these are (on the Neon) high side pressure switch, low side pressure switch, and evap freeze sensor. If any of these sensors are broken (which you say they aren’t), yet the compressor still kicks off, it’s either a problem with the system and the compressor is cutting off to save itself, OR the computer is bad.

Since the compressor works when the relay is bypassed and all the sensor have been checked by the electrician, the bad part seems the computer.
As you mentioned, the ECM is the computer, may you confirm if that is the name as a part in a dealer and also if it is a possible to replace it and what about the reprogramming it. It is automatically done by itself or it is not a practical solution for A/C in this car? Thank you in advance for your help.

Ok well I was wrong about Chrysler, it seems this is a very modern car, I downloaded the FSM and it shows that there are several computers all linked together communicating with each other. Take this car to the dealer or a good mechanic, have then run and find any codes. The code that comes up i can tell you what the issue is. Unfortunately with newer cars you need scanning tools to find issues like these.
Are you CERTAIN there is no issues with refrigerant in the system? Do the cooling fans kick on at idle when the A/C compressor is running?
