Still working on that comp. Autozone sent wrong condenser TWICE! Coming down to the wire on it now. Anyone know where I can get torque specs. My haynes doesn’t go into A/C’s. Called tech support (compressor works). Can’t believe how little he knew. No help. I need the torque for high and low hoses to comp. And torque for mounting bolts to comp bracket. That should get me home! Thanks for any help.

According to the factory service manual, page MTC-66, the line fittings at the condenser have the following torques: The top fitting is 9-12 ft. lbs, the one beneath is 87-174 in. lbs.

On page MTC-67, the compressor mounting bolts are listed at 33-44 ft. lbs.

That sounds about right. I honestly don’t know the specs. If you’re concerned about over-tightning and you can’t get your torque wrench into position. BTW extensions change the torque readings. I’d use a 1/4″ tool. That way you don’t have as much leverage and decrease the risk of over-torquing.

Good luck and keep us posted.

            Hi CAP 269

Thanks for the info. I read your post over several times and realized where you got that info from. As I said, I’m new at posting. How did you go right to MTC pages? I don’t believe they post info like that!

I have a copy of the FSM in PDF form, navigated to the page, took a screen shot, opened the screen shot in an image editor, cropped and resized, saved as a graphic image, and added it to my post.
