Just watched the ETCG1 video on “Goodbye Top Gear UK” and wanted to give my input on it for those who don’t know. The general consensus here is that Jeremy, James and Richard will all stick together and move onto something else. However, there is a pool going on a new presenter, called Guy Martin. For all of you ETCG fans, including Eric, check him out. He is an amazing horsepower nut, and generally everything with propulsion, be it car, bike or gravity. He’s done some great things and has some shows here in the UK, which are probably on YouTube.

Your avatar looks a lot like Alex from ‘A Clockwork Orange’.

Thanks for the intel on this. Many of us around here are fans. I’ll be checking out this other fella you speak of momentarily. I’m certainly interested to see what direction this whole thing goes in.

I’m a self-taught mechanic as well. You’re in good company on this forum.

My avatar is Alex from A Clockwork Orange. And you’re welcome for the information. I think he’d be the only accepted replacement for a Top Gear host. I think it’d have to be, “accepted in the UK” to be accepted everywhere else

nahhh no way, Guy Martin would not be a good choice at all, he is a great super bike rider, great diy engineer and inventor but there is no way he could take over from JC on Top Gear, he does not have the vocabulary and personality, it would become something of an annoyance to watch him every week with his ridiculous accent and side burns!

From a “know how to run a tv show and convey with people” point of view Chris Evans would be a great choice and he is also a petrol head to boot, not sure who would replace James and Richard though, James has now publicly said he is out if JC is, bit silly really but then I still think the 3 of them will be snatched up by another less “politically correct” network anyway, if this happen Top Gear may wll be over for good.
