Is the ABS light on?
If so have it scanned for trouble codes.
There could be a problem with one of the wheel speed sensors making the ABS think one wheel is turning slower then the others causing the ABS to kick on early, You would a scanner to check the wheel speed sensors to see if they all read the same speed.+1 on the ABS codes.
Have it checked for codes and then get back to us C8-)

See this so much up here in the great white north with our salty roads, rust builds up between the sensor and hub and increases the air gap between the reluctor wheel in the hub and the wheel speed sensor. There was actually a recall for Canadian vehicles for this issue. Remove the sensors, clean the rust and apply rust inibitor to the hub surface and reinstall sensors. Only problem is that some of the sensors break off inside the hub when you try and remove them, then they have to be replaced.

Wow…thanks for all the replies! I got the Tahoe scanned for codes and none came up! So I guess I am going to go after the sensors and look at their condition and replace if necessary. Thanks for the info! It has really helped me! I’ll get back to you and let you know how it goes!
Well I’m pretty sure the sensors were the problem. The amount of rust/dirt was incredible! New sensors installed and no instances of the ABS coming on for no reason! Thank you again for all your help! I’m now ready for the winter!
