This thread, and the thread with the plenum gasket details, has become very interesting and complex. It is also an example of how difficult it is to offer advice through a computer, without being told all of the symptoms and signs up front._x000D_

At this point the only assumption I can make is that the shuddering issue is somehow related to my blown plenum gasket discussed in my other thread. I believe its possible that the engine only acts up while under loa

It’s worth noting that the truck shook before any evidence of a blown plenum gasket presented itself. (including a complete lack of any warning lights including the CEL). In fact I made a thread about that issue as soon as I could once I was aware of it.

I do have a check engine light now, and have since before the plenum symptoms showed themselves, but not for as long as it shook. In my first post, I explained that the vehicle had a new ECU installed at one point because it went awry and randomly killed

I’m beginning to think this is just an “old truck thing”. My friend has a 92 F150

Perhaps but I still say if you have known issues address those first and recheck for your symptoms, diagnosis is sometimes a journey not so much a destination.

Indeed. Once the plenum gasket is repaired, if it continues, I’m going to look into the speed sensor. I know somebody with a 98 Neon and a speed sensor went bad, causing the entire car to buck forward and back when the speedometer was held at a given spee

Don’t go there without evidence, diagnosis based on hearsay is a fools errand.

I didn’t mean to imply that I was just going to go change it right away. By look into it I meant that I would do whatever test would tell me if it was bad or not.

That’s cool, I just get a lot of people tell me they suspect this sensor or that and they just replace it and when that doesn’t work they get a bit frustrated, I’m just trying to prevent that.

Oh I know, sometimes when people think they know how to fix a problem, even when there’s no evidence there is no stopping them from trying and often making things worse!

The truck started making some new sounds, and I feel that one may be related as it’s definitely coming from the rear end. Any time the wheels are turned more than a little to the left, a creaking sound is heard which I’m pretty sure is a bad ball joint. H

well that could be related to all the vibration issue’s or just a 2nd issue. this is something i don’t think anyone thought of was the rear end. i would jack up the hole rear end and check each outer axle for play and any noise’s. also pull the rear diff

also while you have the cover off check to see if you have any kind of a limited slip setup in there. some times them make noise aswell while turning tho.
