Ok so i was driving home after i filled up from half a tank and 8 miles or so down the road it just lost power till it eventually died. can say yes the fiuel pump is turning on (can hear it) and i changed the fuel filter, while it was off flipped the key and gas dumped. spray ether in tb and itll fire and run good. with out it it just catches but never stays just hear it trying. At t’he fuel rail if i push the valve down and it just dribbles out.
What does someone think may be happening? Where is fuel pressure regulator at on this car? i cant find it.

There appears to be some confusion as to what exact model has what exact piece.
And its location …
Attached to the fuel rail, I assume under the upper intake manifoldpulled the return hose off pump and cranked. nothing came back. if my understanding of how the regulator works is correct i would say there isn’t enough pressure there to bleed it off. thus must be a weak pump. I realize that is sorta a throwing a part at it conclusion. BUT again from my understanding not enuff pressure = plugged fuel filter or line but im gonna say the line really doesn’t seem likely and new filter (yes its on the right way lol). so my only other thought is weak pump? am i right or wrong? right track or not? also there is a regulator looking thing in the inlet line right before the rail, out of curiosity what is it and what does it do? possible culprit?
Ide say it’s more likely the pump being weak. That seems to happen more often. But you may get your hands on a fuel pressure tester and find somewhere to hook it up. I know there’s usually a port for it. And lookup the fuel pressure psi specs for your car. Not sure if you can rent a fuel pressure tester at an auto parts store or not, I just bought one. If your getting weaker pressure than spec Ide go with the fuel pump being bad. But if your getting the right fuel pressure up to that point. It’d have to be somewhere in the fuel delivery after where you tested it. Testing fuel injectors and such. But take what I say with a grain of salt, I’m no veteran mechanic. Just several years into learning. The fact that the gas just barely dribbles out when you press the valve leads me to believe maybe its just a weak pump with not enough pressure.
