Does the starter selenold goes through the ignition switch then to the neutral safety switch?
So if I’m not getting power to the selenoid post on the starter, what is the best way to determine
if the problem is the ignition switch vs the neutral safety switch?Where in the 99 malibu 3100 auto trans – is the neutral safety switch located? Is it one the steering column
or on the transmission? I’d like to try to see if the switch is getting power itself. If it’s the ignition switch that is the problem, would there be any issues (aside from safety by bypassing NSS)
if I put in a switch to power the selenoid while the ignition is in Run?RIght now, I’m told that there was no power at the selenoild, however, I’m now not sure what to beleive, as the
trustworthyness of this person has now gone down the drain (another story – which I will not go into) – I won’t
be able to actually put a meter to it for a couple more days, so I won’t really be able to offer much more other than
no crank, most likely a good battery – lights are strong and it’s only a year old. was also told engine could be
turned manually and the starter did not start when shorted – again – I can’t believe any of this now until I can
actually test it for sure.
