So i was going about 70 down hill on the highway and as i started to brake to slow down i experienced VERY bad death wobble or vibrations. it was very bad. i had to pull over on the highway to make it stop. later i tried it again when there where no cars around and it did not happen again. leaving me very confused, what could have caused it?

The person i bought it from supposedly had the brakes done about 5-10,000 ish miles ago.
      The jeep is lifted 3in.
      The tires are fairly new.
It has 160k on it and its a 99 jeep cherokee sport.

If my memory is correct your Jeep has a steering dampner that’s likely getting tired. Sometimes all you need to do is be under the right conditions for it to let you know it.

If all of the suspension and steering components are tight and the wheels are in balance then i would be replacing the dampner.

Alright I ordered a steering stabilizer, The one under there now is in pretty bad shape. And i have a question, how loose are the tie-rod ends suppose to be because they have a lot of play in them right now, especially the end connected to the pitman arm.

There should be no loosness in the tierod ends or any steering component.

Alright thank you so much, guess that’s the problem because the tierod ends and most steering components have a lot of play in them. I know what ill be doing this weekend :/

As far as ball joint and tie-rod “play,” there is an acceptable amount set forth by the manufacturer. You should hit all the fittings with a grease gun before determining how much play the steering and suspension components have. The procedure for measuring “play” tolerances depends on whether your vehicle is four wheel drive with a solid front axle, four wheel drive with independent front suspension, or rear wheel drive.
You should refer to a service manual to find the procedure that best fits your vehicle. It would be a good idea to have a service manual of some type to ensure that any parts installed are correctly installed.
It will be very useful to have a helper shake the wheels while you monitor movement in suspension components.
One final thing, you will need an alignment after replacing tie rod ends even if you mark the tie rods.

I would check to see if your wheels are balanced first

An unbalanced wheel will not be more pronounced under braking. A suspension ailment, however, will.
