Look at other parts of the chassis where suspension parts mount to it. Grab it with large strong pliers. Can you easily bend it about? Are there other critical areas that have rust holes near them? That’s when I would call it quits on any vehicle.
If the rest of it is fine, as if the damage was caused by an off road adventure, then it may be worth fixing it. Is your frame fully boxed, or is it a C channel style frame? Do you have a welder and welding expertise? If it’s worth fixing then you might get a body shop involved at least for questions.
I’ve done body work for years. I had to make one good Corvette from two 98 convertibles that were wrecked at opposite ends. It had a fully boxed in frame. I drilled half inch holes, about 9 per side (9 top, then bottom, then each side) on each section of the frames that was to be joined. Then, I made 9 inch long biscuit frame sections out of slightly smaller square tubing, then slid that inside of the front section, then did plug welds in all those half inch holes, then the same with the rear brought into it, then seam welded it. That thing didn’t flex at all when I was done. I hope this helps.

i wish there was a way to send the picture i took of it, as it would be able to give a clear picture of the damage, where the crack is was not cause by off road driving (just to and from work), but by RUST
