Since Eric didn’t have time to get to my question this week in the live AMA I’ll ask you all 🙂

I have a 99 Dodge Durango 4×4 with the 5.2 in it. I started having issues with my transmission a short time ago. It started with a output speed sensor code and the Trans getting stuck in high gear, I could shift it with the shifter but in drive it just would stay in high gear and my speedo still worked. I grabbed a new sensor just for good measure. When I pulled the old one out it had all kinds of metal on it, a bit worrying but I replaced it just to see what would happen. Not long after replacing it a 3-4 shift malfunction code keeps popping up, the trans never felt right after that output speed sensor went. So I’m wondering if it would even be worth it to drop the pan and check it out and change the filter, or if it’s on it’s way out. The suv only has 118k miles on it and is kind of a rust bucket because it did sit a lot.

      Thanks!

Welp did some testing.. solenoids seem to be ok, they ohm out fine and the wiring to the pcm is perfect. I don’t have the equipment to check the OD pressure but it does shift into OD. Bad news is 3rd gear is all but toast… just slips under anything but 1/4 throttle. So.. yea.

Thank you all for your suggestions! at least the check engine light is off for now XD
