The clutch on my 99 Honda Civic SI is going bad so I was going to change it today but after removing the two starter bolts the starter will not come out? It is solid not even a wiggle so what can cause this and how can I get it out Thanks.

Isn’t there a bracket with a fastener holding a cable right above it ?

looks like two fasteners. you may need to tap on the starter.

I have the two bolts off and hitting the starter with a punch and hammer still nothing. Iam so confused never had this happen before. Is the starter corroded to the trans?

Its gotta be corrosion. soak the flange to housing
with wd-40 or penetrating oil.Can you drive something
between the flange and the housing?

There are only 2 fasteners holding the starter in. If you’re having trouble getting it out, then it’s likely to be corrosion OR it was not installed correctly and is bound up in it’s place. Hopefully you don’t damage the starter trying to remove it. Good luck and keep us posted.
