My 1999 Civic needs the head replaced due to the camshaft reaming out the grooves it rides in. I’m replacing it with a remanufactured one so most of the replaceable parts in the head will not need replacing. My question is what else I should do while I’m in there. Since I’ll have everything taken down this much, is there anything else I should do? Going to replace the timing belt and obviously all the gaskets involved.

      Thanks in advance.

Thought I should add that this is a d16y7 and manual transmission.

If the accessory drive belt and radiator hoses are over 2-3 yrs old, put new ones on instead of reinstalling the old. You may want to replace the thermostat too, and also the water pump while doing the timing belt. Make sure to install a new tensioner with the new timing belt.
