      Hi all

Long time ETCG follower but just signed up for premium membership a week or so ago and thought I would show you all my project car.

It’s a 99 E36 328i sport that I picked up a year and a half ago as little project. In fact it’s the second one I’ve owned and in my opinion one of the finest all round cruisers ever.

Anyway for those interested i picked it up with 141,000 miles on it and its now on 148,000

Spec wise it has the following.

      Electric windows
      Electric mirrors
      Cruise control
      Dual zone climate control
      Full on board computer
      Auto dip rear view mirror
      Park distance control
      Centre armrest
      Walnut trim

2.8 24v straight six with M50 inlet manifold conversion with larger bore throttle body and k and n gen tow induction kit. Remapped to 230bhp

5 speed manual box with rogue engineering short shift kit

      M3 dove grey vader interior
      M3 mirrors
Style 24 wheels in staggerd fitment
      Scorpion DTM stainless exhaust
Jvc bluetooth mp3 head unit with edge sub and amp
      JOM coilovers all round
      GT spoiler
Delensed Oem headlights with 6k HIDS and CCFLS

Now when I picked the car up the body was in really nice condition which is the main thing as these cars rot badly if not looked after.

      However the interior was shot.

No problem cue a refurbishment kit coupled with a lot of hard work

That’s the most noticeable change to the car but I’ve spent loads of time trying to get it as perfect as I can mechanically and cosmetically.

I’m returning to college in September so I can no longer afford to use the car so I’m stuck with my crappy fiesta until further notice, however It will not be getting sold, I’m just going to take the time to sort out the little bits of bodywork and other little things so when it hits the road once again it will be perfect.

Il leave you all with a few pics of how the car looks now. Hope that wasn’t too boring lol

      Craig

        Welcome to the forums!

you’ve chosen the best decade for a project car!
Advanced and still not out of reach for beginners!

It looks good, just few comments on mistakes many make.

Exhaust… Silence rear end, open the front as much as you can and get tubular header, this is where response and power gain is, if you have it too open in the rear you will decrease backpressure far too much and decrease low end torque if you have full exhaust from front to back.
The exhaust needs to go from as free flow as possible in the front, and you can increase resistance with silencer more and more the futher back you get.

Coilovers, if you got the cash I’d reccomend KW V3 coilovers, by far the best street coilovers for handling and comfort! It didn’t degrade my comfort too much but it have a whole new level of traction.
They are made for most cars out there!
I can corner faster than people with far stiffer rides than me as KW is a bit high end, I ain’t sponsored nor supported by them.. they just make a darn good suspension product! worth checking out 😉

Otherswise it looks like you are taking care of it 🙂 and get one thing done before you start on something else 🙂
I love people who do subtle and nice things to their cars!

          Hi mate

Thanks for the comments. I have no intention of going any further with tuning though. It gets very expensive for very little gains from here on in.

Limited slip diff is next on the cards aswell as sorting the couple off wee bits of bodywork that have been bugging me. As far as coilovers go the JOM ones are very good for road use. Kw is just too expensive
