1999 Honda Accord LX 2.3 4cyl manual 203000 regular fluid maintenance.

2 month old clutch, new battery, spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor all replaced today. Bench tested the starter and plugs, oddly yellow sparks though from a new battery. Fuel pump in the tank activating when turned to on as well as one activating somewhere close to the steering wheel (removed pump fuse to make sure what the noise was). Check engine light for evap canister solenoid (it’s new), all dash lights function. The car jumps forward when I let off the clutch in first gear while attempting to start the engine. Checked all fuses in the driver dash and engine compartment.

I had driven the car three times the day it did this, it had only sat for about two hours in mid 80 heat. I turned the key and heard a quiet non metallic clunk instead of the turn over, the starter continued to turn. Checked under the hood and found a wire leading to/from the throttle body and four inputs on the rear of the valve cover was disconnected so I plugged it back in but it didn’t help. I did all the repairs and checks listed above and still only the starter turns. I haven’t checked that master fuse thing under the dash that can lose solder joint connection yet, that’s tomorrow. Is there something in overlooking? I’m not a car person sorry if any of those names are wrong…

        Start with the basics..
See if there are any codes stored in the ECM.
You need fuel, air and spark.
First try spraying a little starter fluid into the throttle body and see if the engine fires off.
If it does you have a fuel delivery issue.
Next is to check for good spark on each plug using a spark checker.
        If that is good.
You’ll need to check compression on each cylinder and see if the engine has enough compression.

Fixed. Got the timing belt exposed because I was just going over all the no start problems and noticed some plastic bits fell out of the guard. Nothing looked broken or plastic inside until I saw what I now know to be the CPS, something had caused it to shatter. Replaced it and the car fired right up.
