This morning I tried to start the vehicle and it would not attempt to start. I checked the battery voltage & cranking amps and they were good. I connected the battery charger any way, let it charge for a while and tried again but nothing. When I turned the key to try to crank the vehicle, even though the wipers were off, the wipers would wipe the windsheild one time. I was going to check to make sure I had voltage at the starter, when trying to crank, I got my wife to turn the key and all of a sudden the van started. I cranked the van several times and it stsrted, right away, every time. During the past couple of mouths it has done this perhaps three times.

I am new to this forum (first time) so let me say Hi and I appreciate any help.

In that, recently, the cruise control and horn stopped working, could it be a problem with the wireing in the steering wheel and if so do you need any special tools to remove the steering wheel?

there,s a fuse able link that run,s off the starter to the ignition switch,,that help,s power the switch so it can start the car,,if this burn,s in to it wont do anything,,like your,s is doing,,the one you need to look for comes off the starter,,and the way you can check it is take hold of it,and try pulling on it a little,,not very hard,,if the rubber insulation stretche’s out this means the wire inside is burned in to,,that will be your problem,,if not try looking around all your cable,s and make sure there all on good ,,it sound,s like it has lost voltage some where ,,but check the link i mentioned,,there are a few of them that come right off the starter positive post,,could be one of them

“When I turned the key to try to crank the vehicle, even though the wipers were off, the wipers would wipe the windsheild one time.”, most of the time that I have seen cars do that is when the battery is low. You said you tested the battery, and it test fine so try to see if there is not just a lot of resistence in the wires to the battery (like the ground wire). Just my two cents.

Many thanks for the info. I will surely check resistence.

It sounds like your losing battery power. check that
your battery terminals are clean and tight.also have
your battery load test at an auto part store for free.
