I have a 98 Plymouth breeze 2.0 (automatic trans FWD) that has developed a strange issue that has become quite dangerous. It runs great at low temp, but after the engine gets to normal operating temp, if I travel at speeds over 50 mph or so, it will die. It feels like it stops feeding fuel and the rpms drop slowly, once they get below about 600 rpms it just dies. Sometimes if I switch to neutral it will start giving fuel again, but usually it has no effect. I have been researching this to the best of my ability (I am pretty inexperienced as a mechanic), the first conclusion I came to was crankshaft position sensor, but from what I gather if your plug wires are sparking then the crank sensor is working… and I do have spark. So I then started looking into coolant temp sensor, which seems like a likely culprit. However my temp gauge is working and I believe the coolant temp sensor feeds the gauge info also on this car. I have NO CEL lights and scanner pulls no codes. Been watching Eric the car guy vids on youtube for quite a while, and you seem like my best shot for figuring this out. If any of you have any ideas or have heard of this before please help. Thank you sincerely in advance, Mike H

Any of those can cause your problem and trip the car into shutting off the fuel pump. ONce you narrow the list down let us know. I am betting on a computer error regarding the fuel intake thou. College man thinks its the crank, we shall see who is right.lol
