im getting a p0505 code after resetting my computer the other day. previous to the reset it was wanting to idle too low. i replace iacv and tps, and tested the map sensor which is working fine. i have a pcv valve im going to put on it once i hunt it down on the back side of the motor. altho i dont know if that will even help anything.
the car wants to idle high between 1500 and 2k. when coming out of gear it will drop down to 1k, then hunt up and down a couple times and then settle around 1500. if i let it sit and idle for around 10 min it will begin to rev up and down really fast, but just a couple hundred rpm at a time. and when i give it a little gas, it will do it even fast between a couple hundred rpm. i turn the car off and back on and it goes away, yet still idles real high. while driving it will take a second after letting off the gas before the car will start to slow itself down. its a ex 5 spd

Would check your coolant tempature sensor, and your air intake temp sensor. Also make sure there is no air in the coolant system.

remove the air duct to the TB. There maybe two ports on the tb.
Put your finger over the upper hole to see if the idle comes down.
If it does your IAC is passing to much air. here is a link to help with
            honda idle issues. 🙂

i bled the coolant system. the idle dropped to a normal level of about 1k, but it still wants to do a little bit of hunting and will go up to almost 1500 after pushing in the clutch and coming to a stop. it will also still do the really fast puttering after sitting idling for a bit, only does it when i give it a little bit of gas so it makes it real jerky when shifter at a easy casual pace.

iv also been having problems with the motor hesitating real bad while accelerating. i got a couple cat/02 sensor codes, p0420. replace the 02, but the car still runs better when i unplug the 02. iv got a whole new exhaust system on the way, including header and test pipe. hoping that will fix that problem. i beleive the cat to be clogged, it will overheat when driving it out of town after being on the highway for about a hour.

It drops to a proper idle when I put my thumb over it.

                      It’s a d16y8

Something wrong with your IAC. Either its getting the wrong signal
or its not moving. I know you replaced it but that does not mean it
                        works.

Problem fixed! When I noticed my cruise was coming on, but not working, I got under the hood. The vacuum line for it was just dangling, took a min to find the plug on the back bottom side of the IM but once I saw It i was pumped and knew I found the problem! Haha.

Thanks for all your comments and responses guys!
