Hey guys. I have a 1997 mustang gt with a SOHC 2V 4.6. It’s suffering from a loss of power, it has 200000 KM on it. The issue is after the car warms up it has virtually no power at all. One the car hits 3000RPM it stops accelerating all together. It’s extremely dangerous merging onto the highway and going uphill. The modifications I have on the car is a cold air intake, off road x pipe (no cats) cat back exhaust and a tune. I recently replaced the plugs and fuel filter, I think the problem may be the fuel pump? Please help!!

Hesitation is almost constant. Missing doesn’t happen too often though

CEL is on, just pulled code P0113 – intake air temperature sensor 1 circuit high input.

Friend of mine had this very same issue and it had to do with the muffler believe it or not. The catalytic converter was bad and causing a blockage in the exhaust, causing the engine to sufficate itself. Also wouldnt be a bad idea to check your fly wheel and transmistion. Make sure if its a auto that its actually changing gears and not stuck in first gear/idle gear. When you go up hill if it starts going ROOM ROOM ROOM ROOM chances are its the exhaust, that sound is the engine under so much load that its able to force past the blockage now and then. Those are my best guesses.

I am assuming that the car is at least half full of gas.lol

Edit: Note if you had said Air Input Low, then I would assume you had a rat living in your air intake housing nesting on the air filter. Check that anyway very common around here anyway.

I’ve ruled out the exhaust problem, I don’t have any cats,I also have new high flow mufflers

Solved the problem today!! All it was is a dirty MAF and an intake air temp sensor!
