I was trying to replace the pads. Tried to push back the calipers piston with auto zone borrowed tools. 1st the tool kit disc adapter slips out of the two out of 4-notches in the piston while turning the tool. 2nd with the tool some how in position the piston does not move with the rotation of tool. Opened up the bleeder valve and tried again to compress the piston. The piston is again rock solid.
Examined the bleeder valve-It was clean, bone dry, and the hole was also clean and dry. Questions:
      1) should I buy a new calipers?
      2) what additional tests should I do before the whole calipers is condemned?
      3) If this is indeed a defective calipers, can it be serviced for safe operation and HOW?
      4) if this has to be replaced by a new one, the other wheel calipers need not be replaced- right?
      5) Has Eric tackled this problem before? If so where?
      thank you very much

If you cannot screw the piston back in the caliper is junk

here is a video on front and rear replacement.
If the bleed screw is open and the caliper piston
will not turn to reset. Then the caliper should be
          replaced.

THANKS A LOT FOR THE FEEDBACK.
I foresee two problems/ difficulties for replacement with a new calipers.
            1) Brake fuel line has to be disconnected-It is old and oxidized . Can I use PB to ease the removal?
            2) There is parking brake hook up to a spring loaded bracket. How to remove this and put it back? Where to unloosen the parking brake cable to unhook it from calipers? Can some one please attach a picture.
Thanks a lot. Attached are two pictures of calipers piston condition after pulling back the dust cover boot.
