i have a 97 MK3 Jetta Trek 2.0, made in Mexico. I had to replace the heater core, which was fine, that is fixed but now i have a problem with gauge cluster. its electrical gauge for most part. the clock on it work and holds the time no problem, but the odometer reads 141,xxx and now does not go up while driving it, but it is a digital one as well to be clear. the actual gas/MPH/Tach/Temp sensor/gauge does not read at all, nothing. I took dash apart twice to no avail. fixed none of it nor could i find a plug i forgot.

I moved on to try the plugs itself, they seem good. the stepper motors in gauge are fine, the solder points inside the cluster look very good no cracks or nothing to the solder points.
please help if i have done something wrong, Chad Premo

i have checked all fuses, test light on all, and none blown either. something could be plugged in wrong but, could not find anything wrong. each plug seemed to go in its correct spot and the two on back of cluster wont mismatch at all so i know are plugged in correctly despite the 20 minutes trying to make it plug in. checked prongs on the plug/harness itself they all good not bent at all. the relays, are a bit harder for me. i bought a book for my car but to no avail, does not show relay position what soever. i looked online and combed through junk cars at salvage yard in hopes i had misplaced a relay in the wrong slot but could not find anything due to them all being different. same year just different make and model. not a single junk trek edition around this area. so relay could be the culprit but no one seems to know where to find the actual diagram of the relays.
thanks for the reply, hope this info can help. appreciate it.
