Hello, I am thinking about buying a 97 Civic that seized the engine.
The current owner said he had done head work fine and the PCV wasn’t hooked up and the car ate all it’s oil.

Since it needs an engine anyways I was wondering if I could swap in a V6 Accord engine from 97, since I would have to pull it anyways.

It is technically possible. However, it requires enough expertise that if you’re asking here, it’s probably not a swap you should tackle. A B18 swap would be a more approachable projext.

I know it’s “possible”, I was just wondering if it would fit somewhat easily and work. Some Honda’s are, just a curiosity question really.

          Thanks

Anything is ” possible ” given enough time, effort and money.
Not to mention the knowledge to splice, mate and configure the harnesses and ECU to operate a different power plant.

Ya I was just curious if it would work, since it’s coming out and the pick and pull around me had 8 accords and 4 civics.

One last question, since the cars a stick, how much work would it be to use an auto engine?

Is it just swap the flex plate for the flywheel?

Also any advice, tips or tricks would be appreciated.
I haven’t bought the car yet, but if I can land it for 300 bucks or so and f’ it up, the junkyard will give me most of my money back.

                Might be looking at
                Bell housing.
Clutch pedal assembly, associated wiring and plumbing or mechanical linkages depending on the setup
                Transmission mounts.
                Drive shaft

Cool man thanks for the advice. I’m probably going to pull an engine from the junkyard before I buy the car to make sure I can pull it.
